Ionad Cois Locha:, The Dunlewey Centre (2km) has a museum housed in a traditional weaver's cottage. It also has a theme farmyard, a variety of animals, children's play areas and regular boat trips on the lake. A small theatre relates the history and tradition of the area in film and play.

Glenveagh National Park: Just a 10 minute drive away and the area includes a 14,000 hectare deer park set amongst the dramatic mountain range around Lough Veagh. The visitor centre has audio-visual displays and there are guided tours that include and Glenveagh Castle and surrounding gardens reputed to be the finest in Ireland. A restaurant serves traditional teas.

Colmcille Heritage Centre: Located at Gartan, Churchill, only a twenty minutes drive from Glen Heights, this centre houses a unique interpretative exhibition featuring the life and times of Saint Colmcille (Columba) - Patriarch of the Irish monastic system and founder of the Scottish Church. The exhibition is housed in a beautiful stone building on the shores of Lough Gartan, within the Derryveagh mountain range.
