Poison Glen

The Poison Glen and the Derryveagh Mountains, Dunlewy, Co. Donegal, Ireland - ideal for walking holidays from Glen Heights B&B
There are many short but inspiring rambles through the Poison Glen. This is the glen at the head of Dunlewey Loch. There are many theories about its strange name in English but it is most likely a mis-translation from Irish.

From the ruined church in Dunlewey you can walk along the right bank of the Owenabhainn as far into the Poison Glen as you wish. Alternatively simply walk alongside the Devlin River perhaps as far as Lough Nabrackmea (Fat Trout Lake) or even to Lough Maam. (Up to 6 km walk with a gentle ascent).
